Nikki Chaplan
I am honored to join the Wildcat Community.
I grew up in the Sacramento area and my received English degree from the University of the Pacific. After student teaching at the high school I attended, I began my teaching career in 2005 at Monte Vista High School (Danville). After nine wonderful years in the classroom, I became Monte Vista's teacher on special assignment focusing on developing a school-wide literacy program that integrated Common Core and NGSS standards. In 2017, I joined administration as an assistant principal supporting middle and high schools.
As an educational leader, I believe that we must make all decisions in the best interest of students, allow all students to shine, and we must treat each other with kindness and grace.
I live in Danville with my husband, of 17 years, Russ and two daughters Madeline (15) and Ellie (12). My family is joined by rambunctious labs, Max and Gus, who enjoy chasing tennis balls and squirrels. As a family, we enjoy rooting on the Oakland A's, watching movies, and a nice backyard BBQ. My hobbies include running and reading.
I look forward to getting to know the students and community.
Best,
Nikki Chaplan
