The Lafayette School District and I share a common vision; we both believe in preparing students to become creative thinkers and problem-solvers, responsible, ethical and productive citizens.  The faculty and staff throughout the district work tirelessly to provide quality educational experiences for all students, supported by a rigorous curriculum; for these reasons, and many more, I am honored to serve as an Assistant Principal here at Stanley Middle School!

My experiences working with children go back over twenty years- to a summer job working in my mother's early intervention special education classroom as an instructional aide; that was an eye-opening experience that showed me the rewards and enjoyment of working with youth.  After graduating from CSU Chico, I moved to San Francisco and got an entry level job working in an office.  It was there, sitting in my cubicle that I recommitted myself to pursuing a career in education, and the intrinsic rewards that come with it.  I entered graduate school at USC, where I received a Masters in Teaching and two teaching credentials- in social science, and English.  Upon returning to the Bay Area, I worked as a middle school ELA and History teacher for seven years in South San Francisco.  While I loved my time in the classroom, I felt compelled to return to school and attended Notre Dame de Namur University, where I received a Masters in School Administration, and an Administrative Services Credential.  For the last three years, I have been working as a Vice Principal at a large middle school in San Leandro.

In my free time, I can be found spending time with my wife, son, and dog. We love the outdoors, and can often be found hiking, swimming, or relaxing at a park.  When I'm not busy being a dad, I like to garden, cook, read and travel.

I look forward to working with the staff at Stanley, and serving the Lafayette community.  If you have any questions, or would like to know more about me, I'm happy to chat!
