Brian Mangold
It’s my pleasure to serve as an Assistant Principal at Stanley Middle School. I’ve taught here for almost a decade, and I have a deep respect and appreciation for this school and it’s community.
My career as an administrator begins after many years of working with children in many capacities. I spent much of my teens as a peer tutor, babysitter, camp counselor, swim instructor, and athletic coach. After graduating from UC Davis and while working at a residential and school treatment program, it became clear to me that I wanted to become a teacher. I went back to school and attended Columbia University Teachers College, where I received a master's degree and a special education teaching credential.
Upon returning to California, I settled in the East Bay and began teaching at a non-public school for students with special needs. After a few years, my desire to teach at a public school brought me to Lafayette. I've now been at Stanley Middle School for 9 years, and I am continuously impressed by my exceptional colleagues and the incredible community support that the district's schools receive.
When I'm away from Stanley, I enjoy time with my family and friends, and often that time is spent in the outdoors. I play tennis, basketball, soccer, and softball, and I also enjoy hiking, running, cycling, kayaking, snowboarding, and rock climbing.
