Welcome to Spanish 1A!

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español 1A!

Welcome to Spanish 1A! :)

I hope you all had a fun, restful and relaxing summer.  I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you, and embarking on a fabulous year together!  I am Señora Parnas, and I will be your teacher for Spanish 1A.   This is my ninth year teaching Spanish 1A here at Stanley.  I absolutely love teaching world languages, and our Stanley community and students.

My background is in International Communication.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies from U.C.S.B., and my Teaching Credential from Saint Mary's College.  I have lived abroad in Costa Rica, Mexico, and France, and speak French, Spanish (and of course English) fluently.

This year, in Spanish 1A, you will be able to understand, speak, read and write quite a bit - and experience the Hispanic culture in the process!  The Spanish 1A course will cover such topics as Greetings, Numbers, Time & Dates, Weather, Likes and Dislikes, Personality Traits, Activities & Hobbies, School, Food and Meals.

I welcome questions, comments and input from students and families at any time, so please do not hesitate to write me an email, or stop by my classroom at lunch or after school.  I hope that you enjoy your exposure to the beautiful Spanish language and culture tremendously over the course of this year! I am so glad you are here! :)
